Managing webpages

On a Website Builder website there is no limit to the number of pages it can have. Most of the templates on Website Builder come with 3-4 pages set up already, however it is easy enough to add more. The Pages tab on the side bar is where pages are managed, here you can add new pages, rename pages, delete pages and re-order pages.

Adding a new page is just a case of clicking the plus icon on the Pages tab. You will need to enter a name for the new page, once defined the new page will be created and contain some of your basic website elements such as the navigation links, header and footer. Alternatively clicking the x2 icon will duplicate a selected page, this is particularly handy if only a small amount of content needs to be tweaked across a few pages. In either of these circumstances the new page will automatically be added to your site navigation.

A page can be set to be a child page of another page. What this opens up is the ability to create drop down menus in your site navigation menu. To set this up, within the Pages tab click and hold on the page you want to become a child of another on the grabber bar (the grey rectangle on the left of a page listing), then drag the page under the parent page leaving a slight indent space, an outline box will appear before you release your mouse denoting that the page is to become a child of a parent

After doing this the child pages will appear in a drop down menu under the parent on the website itself.

Clicking Manage Pages brings up a series of more advanced options for managing your pages, should you want to set custom page URLs (i.e. you can do this here. Also there is per-page fields for entering in metadata, this is essentially the information search engines look for in order to populate your listing.
